2015 HTAsiaLink Annual Conference Successfully Concluded

There are more than 150 HTA researchers and practitioners from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Bhutan, Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Britain, Australia, and Canada et.al. attended 2015 HTAsiaLink annual conference in Taiwan during 13-15 of May. In this conference we held the Leaders Forum- Highlights from High-Level Decision Makers on HTA for UHC and successfully to promote the importance of HTA international communication.

A total of 50 topics (abstracts) with respect to both Economic Evaluation and Health System Research were presented in the parallel session of HTAsiaLink annual conference during three meeting days. In the fierce competition, the General Assembly elected the top three in each group.

In Economic Evaluation session, the first prize is “A Policy Model of Alcohol-Related Harms for Predicting Life Years and Quality-Adjusted Life Years” conducted by Pattara Leelahavarong from Thailand (HITAP),

the second prize is “Does the WHO Package Of Essential Non-Communicable Disease (PEN) Interventions Represent Good Value for Money in Resource-Limited Settings” conducted by Waranya Rattanavipapong Thailand (HITAP),

and the third prize is “Do Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccines Represent Good Value for Money in a Lower-Middle Income Country? A Cost-Utility Analysis in the Philippines” conducted by Manuel Alexander Haasis from Philippines (NCPAM).

In Health System Research session, the first prize is “Horizon Scanning on a Range of Orthopaedic Technologies: Experience and Outcomes” conducted by Nicholas Marlow from Australia (ASERNIP-S),

and the second prize is “Developing A Drug Price Reference Index in the Philippines” conducted by Manuel Alexander Haasis form Philippines (NCPAM).

There are two third prizes, one is “Comparative Effectiveness of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia” conducted by Wen-Wen Yang from Taiwan (NIHTA),

and the other one is “The Journey to HTA in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Conducive Factors and Barriers to HTA Development” conducted by Sarocha Chootipongchaiwat form Thailand (HITAP).

The conference was successfully concluded on May 15, the current President Dr. Pwu handover the keepsake of HTAsiaLink annual conference to Dr. Keng Ho Pwee from Singapore. HTAsiaLink family members, let us look forward to the next meet. See you in Singapore in 2016.
